We will be hand-cutting various vegetables prepping them for dehydration. This is later mixed into a very nutritious soup which is freely sent to the extremely hungry around the world. Last year well over eight million meals were provided. This prep of vegetables is usually completed in four hours each morning, Monday, through Saturday with the rest of the day and evening left to you to decide. We are planning many fun community activities or you could venture around the Oliver, B.C. area on your own.
We do have two RV full hookup spaces still available and unlimited tenting space. Just call Bob Hughes, 509.393.1172 for additional information and to sign up. We are praying that you can join in this ministry. We are expecting 6 to 9 RV families going on this venture.
We will be leaving Sunday, June 18th, in the afternoon. You may 'caravan' your way up if you wish and return the afternoon of Saturday, June 23. Payment for the hookups is not required, yet the opportunity of a donation will be given. If you are available for fewer days than the week or more days...that is great too.
The Set Free Movement is an organization that is part of the modern abolitionist movement. Our church is partnering with the SFM and Free Methodist Missions with their ministry to the Romani people in Bulgaria. The Romani people in Eastern Europe (particularly Romania and Bulgaria) are largely targeted by human traffickers for many reasons. Now, God is opening doors for our church to get involved. Eastmont Community Church is sending a team of five adults and five teens to partner with a Romani church in the slums of Kyustendil, Bulgaria.
A team of families, individuals, and youth from our church are going to serve at, and with, the Pablo Baptist Church at the Pablo County Fair on the Flathead First Nations Reservation in Montana! The church reaches out to the community by building relationships and trust with the local people by providing games, fun, and positive relational interactions. The gospel is shared by young and old, through action and love. We invite you to pray for the team that is going that God would go ahead of us and open hearts to see, hear, and recognize the need for a savior and, ultimately, that hearts would be transformed by the love of Christ. If you would like to financially support this effort, you may do so as some of our team members are still in need of that kind of support.
